Tramp and Tumble Team - State Championships!

On Saturday April 12th Team Sun Country’s Tramp and Tumble Team participated in the State Championships in Port Charlotte, Florida at Horizon Gymnastics.
The athletes did great and placed in the top 4 for the state!
Alan Torroella was the big champion, taking 1st place on Trampoline -
level 8 boys, 1st place on Tumbling - level 6 boys, and 2nd place on
Double Mini - level 8 boys.
Maddie Grooms got 2nd place on Trampoline - level 8 girls.
Karli Mizrahy got 2nd place on Double Mini - level 7 girls.
Maddie and Alan qualified for Nationals on all 3 events!
Tampa Bay Turners Invitational

The Level 7s won 6th Place Team. They were lead by Sydney Richeson who placed third on the floor exercise. Brooke Newmans who placed third on Vault with a 9.45 and Heather Rose who took fourth place on Balance Beam .
Beth Miles, Level 8, placed first on vault with a 9.325. She placed third on bars and floor. She also finished second on beam and second All-Around with a 36.825.
Level 10, Nikki Shofner placed first on Uneven Bars with a 9.025 and Michaela Woodford received third on Balance Beam with a 9.20.

1st Place Level 7 Team - GO SUN COUNTRY!!!
3rd Place Level 8 Team
Team Sun Country competed in the Universal International Invite this weekend with gymnasts from all over the world, including Brazil and Canada. The girls won many events, including the Level 7 Team Trophy!
Claudia Deng, Level 7 won Vault with a 9.575, Floor with a 9.45, and All-around with a 37.075. She also placed second on Uneven Bars and Balance Beam. Kayla Jackson, Level 7, won both Uneven Bars and Balance Beam with a 9.225 and 9.125. Sydney Richeson, also a Level 7, won the Floor Exercise with an impressive 9.7. Brooke Newmans, Level 7 took second place on Vault and Holley Rose took third place. On Balance Beam, Level 7 Julie Walter placed second and Dallas Hampton placed third.
Hailey Hampton, Level 8, won vault with a 9.2 and took 2nd on Floor Exercise with a 9.525. Beth Miles took 3rd place on Vault, Uneven Bars, and Floor Exercise. She clinched 4th place in the All-Around. Awesome Job!! Congratulations Sun Country!!

Level 8 Team - 3rd Place
Team Sun Country traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada on February 9th and 10th. The team have a fabulous time, and also had many top finishers. Nikki Shofner, Level 10, placed first on Vault, Uneven Bars, Floor and All-around. Her scores were 9.175, 8.85, 9.45, and 35.4. Go Nikki! The Level 8 Team did great! Hailey Hampton won Floor with a 9.55 and took second on Vault with a 9.3. She also won All-around with a 36. 4. Beth Miles, Level 8 won Vault with a 9.425 and took second place on Bars wit a 9.3 and clinched third place All-around with a 36.275. Alicia Frazer took second place on Floor with a 9.375. Claudia Deng, Level 7 received second place on Vault with a 9.3.

Team Sun Country won many events at the Suncoast Sports Fest. Kayla Jackson, Level 7 won vault, uneven bars, and All-Around. Beth Miles, Level 8 won vault, bars, and All-Around. Hailey Hampton, Level 8 won vault, floor, and All-Around. Alicia Frazer won floor exercise. Nikki Shofner, Level 10 won floor exercise and All-Around.
