EXPENSES

Please find your team in BOLD

ALL PARENTS:

Parents, we’ve completed a calculation of this year’s competitive expenses. Please read through thoroughly as this is the first time that we have done expenses this way. We appreciate your patience and understanding with this trial system. I feel confident in how we manage your meet money and appreciate the trust you have placed in us.
Remember….Your competitive expenses are only calculated up through the state meet. Any meets that you attend beyond the state meet will be billed individually once your child qualifies.
Go Team Sun Country….looking forward to another great year!

[AAU] Important News

Dear AAU families,

Today I write to you regarding some exciting news.

Over the past couple of months I have been working very closely with Linda and members of the USAG team at the Millhopper location to roll out a plan for the progression of the current AAU team. I am thrilled to announce that beginning this Fall, we will now train as members of Sun Country’s new Xcel team!

Some of you may be familiar with the Xcel program, while others have never heard the term. Xcel is a program that serves as an alternative to the Junior Olympic (levels 1-10) track. It is more inclusive, caters to the individual athlete’s strengths more than the traditional progression system and is rapidly popularizing amongst some of the most renowned clubs in the country.

This transition has been excruciatingly planned and thought through — we believe this will be an awesome opportunity for the program, as well as the kids! Xcel information can be found online, but I will be hosting two separate parent meetings to answer any questions and educate everyone. We encourage all parents to attend one of the meetings we will hold.

The meetings will be held as follows:

  • Wednesday August 8th  at 7pm or
  • Wednesday August 8th at 8pm

I am beyond excited to take this team to the next step and I look forward to meeting with you all as we move forward!

Please RSVP to the front desk as to which meeting you will attend.

Thank you for your continued support!

[USAG Girls] Compulsory Season Announcements

Good Afternoon Compulsory Parents!

I have finalized our dates for the In-House meet, and they are as follows:

Levels 3 and 4 – Thursday, August 23rd at 4:45 pm.

  • Level 5s will have a quick run through on this day as well from 5:00 – 7:30 pm.

Levels 2 and 5 – Friday, August 24th at 4:45 pm.

  • There will be NO Level 3 and 4 practice on this day, however, the girls are highly encouraged to come cheer on their teammates!

If you would like to stay and watch the meet, you are welcome to observe from the parent room. Just remember that we have limited parking, and our neighbors will tow! You may park at the Bank of America or Thornebrook Village.

In other news, I recommend booking your hotels early and cancelling/adjusting rooms when we receive the schedule. I will not receive schedules for meets until about two weeks prior, but once I get the schedule I will send it out to you all right away!

Below you will find a link with a list of the Host Hotels for the season. You are not required to stay in the host hotel, or to stay in a hotel at all. Just do what you know is best for your gymnast once you receive the schedule. Competitions may start at 8:00 am, so please be prepared for that.

2018-2019 Compulsory Host Hotels

Finally, with the approach of season, I would like to have a brief parent meeting for ALL Compulsory parents on Wednesday, August 8th at 6:00 pm. During this meeting I will be discussing our In-House competition details, tips for the competition season, and answering any other questions you may have.

Thank you for your continued support,

Updated Fall Team Schedules

Dear Parents,

Attached is your Fall 2018 Team Schedule. I am sure you are all sad to see summer with your kids coming to an end as the start of school is right around the corner. Our Fall schedule will begin on August 13th when Alachua County Public School begins.

2018 Fall Team Schedule 2018-2019 Team Manual

If your school has a different start date, please see your Team Department Leader about alternate workouts. They will do what they can to accommodate a workout for your child. Please note the following:

  • I will be reviewing all Fall competitive schedules with the coaches next week to make sure our meet expense charges are as accurate as they can be for the upcoming season. Most of our athletes have trained very hard over the summer and are almost ready for the season.
  • We have also attached your 2018 Team Manual for all competitive programs. Please send in the last two pages signed. Your child will NOT be able to remain on team or compete without our office receiving these important documents.
  • Please note there is a tuition increase that will take place with your September billing.

Thank you for your continued support, we appreciate each and every one of you!
